Our Operations
Psychiatry Department 1 is an acute department with round-the-clock care that is part of the psychosis care chain within the field of psychiatry at Uppsala University Hospital. We care for individuals with psychotic disorders and conduct psychosis assessments. We have close collaboration with outpatient care and municipalities throughout the region. We are constantly developing cooperation with other psychiatric specialties in the hospital. We work health-promoting and have created a workplace with a cohesive workgroup with diverse backgrounds and competencies. We have a person-centered approach where we strive to provide the best possible care.
We are looking for you
As a caregiver/assistant in psychiatry, you will meet many different people in difficult situations. The department receives most patients acutely, and the pace of work can be high at times. You are part of a team where you help each other, but it is also required that you can work independently, be flexible, and adapt your communication based on the situation and the patient's needs. Your tasks include departmental and care duties where both psychiatric and somatic care must be performed and coordinated.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who wants to work in healthcare during the summer of 2026. Being an educated caregiver/nursing assistant or having experience working in a psychosis department is advantageous. Alternatively, we welcome applicants who have ongoing healthcare education or ongoing psychology education. You must be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, and if you speak other languages, this is an advantage. When hiring, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We Offer
We offer several temporary positions during the period of June-August, with start dates according to agreement. You are expected to be available to work during Uppsala University Hospital's vacation periods, weeks 25–32 (at least 6 consecutive weeks). Before hiring, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records will be obtained. With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
